The Blowing Rock Horse Show events are wonderful events for everyone to check out staying in the High Country. The 2016 Blowing Rock Horse Show will mark the 93rd year that the historic event has taken place in the tiny resort village of Blowing Rock.
The schedule of events and dates are as follows:
Schedule: 8:00 am to about 5:00 pm daily
Saddlebred Division – June 9-June 12
Hunter & Jumper Division July 26-July 31 and August 2-August 7
We have openings and available rooms during the July and August event dates for the Hunter & Jumper Division this year. The June events have already taken place this year during the time of this posting and we’ve are booked fully through June except for this Thursday, June 14, 2016 as of the time of this posting.
The events take place at the L. M. Tate Horse Show Grounds, at the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve which is just one mile from historic Blowing Rock. Tickets are just $10 per day and children 12 and under are free! Spectators enjoy the food, crafts and flash events at the Saddlebred show events. You can come and go throughout the day with your day ticket.
The events are always a huge highlight of the season, as the website for the event points out:
“Surrounded by the Cone’s favorite place on earth, at the historic horse show grounds in Mayview, you can enjoy a spectacular display of the finest show horses in the country as they chase the silk and silver of the “Oldest Continuous Outdoor Horse Show In America”. In whatever fashion you support the Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show, you will be helping maintain a beloved institution and supporting many worthy charities. Just know, whether you are with us for a day or for the entire three weeks, you are welcome and your participation is appreciated.” http://blowingrockhorses.com/blowing-rock-charity-horse-show/
