App Ski Mountain Hosts ASEF Boarder / Skier X

boone nc skiingCalling all skiers and snowboarders! Come up to App Ski Mountain this Saturday and check out the Boarder / Skier X event slated to take place at noon on Saturday. It should be a great event for all. Join us for a fun filled weekend of Boone NC skiing. Spectators will be treated to some cool tricks and maneuvers and all proceeds will support those cute kiddos of the Appalachian Jr. Race Team and Appalachian Snowboard Club.  This Boarder/Skier X is open to both skiers and snowboarders of all ages and abilities. Onsite registration will be available in the Snow Cloud room (3rd level) between 8:30 and 10:30 am on Race Day. Registration is just $12.

Right now, the Lenoir Room and the Baldwin Room are both available for skiers and boarders that want to make the trip up to Appalachian this weekend. They are two value rated rooms in our historic bed and breakfast Boone NC, Lovill House Inn. You won’t have to break your budget to book a room for the night and come up and go skiing. We are a favorite among couples, and groups of friends that want to stay close in to everything downtown has to offer. We offer considerable perks when compared to the other chain Boone NC hotels in the area. We are conveniently located right along Downtown Boone corridor, and the King Street area making dining and shopping easy during your stay.

In addition to App Ski Mtn., you can ski and snowboard at the other area resorts such as Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain Ski Resort. The largest tubing park in the southeast is also located atop Seven Devil’s at the former Hawksnest Resort. Not into skiing, but want to make the trip with your friends? There is plenty to do in the High Country while your friends are on the slopes. You can watch the Boarder and Skiercross event and check out the tricks, or go shopping at Tanger Shoppes on the Parkway outlets.  If you like adventure, get out and enjoy the outdoors and bring your camera. During winter, you can snap shots of locations and landscapes that you ordinarily wouldn’t be able to see (because of the dense foliage). Sky Valley Tours in Blowing Rock (located in front of Tweetsie Railroad on Highway 321) offers ATV tours, zip lining and more when the temps are a little warmer.

Want to see what it looks like on the slopes of Appalachian Ski Mountain, right now? Check out this link to the live App Ski Mtn slope camera. You can view what the conditions are like and then make the trip up, but we are certain that once you see all of the powder and great conditions that we have right now (our hats off to winter storm Jonas) you’ll be ready to pack your bags.
