For 92 years, locals and tourists alike have joined together for the 2015 Blowing Rock Charity Horse Show, one of the oldest continuously operating horse shows in the country. June 4th– June 7th you can enjoy the flash and glamor of the saddle-bred show. In late July, you will be able to join the excitement of the hunter and jumper shows. Tickets for this event are available at the door. Adults get in for $10 per day and children under the age of 12 attend for free! If you’re lucky enough, a box seat may open up. If that’s the case, move fast! They don’t stay available for long. The show will be held at the Blowing Rock Equestrian Preserve, where it has been held since 1928. Prior to this location, the show was held on Green Hill Road, behind the area of the Blowing Rock golf course and country club.
Being the highlight of Blowing Rock’s Summer season, lodging quickly becomes scarce. Since we’re located in Boone, you can stay out of the congested hustle and bustle of Blowing Rock, while still being close enough to the action. We have a few rooms available during each week. With room for 13 people in our main house, and 2 in the detached cottage, we are able to give you the attention (or the privacy) that you need. Enjoy a warm, cooked to order breakfast every morning and the charm of our historic B&B during all parts of the day. Sit on our wrap around porch and enjoy the cool mountain atmosphere. Our inn is tucked away on the edge of the woods, yet we’re still less than a minute from Boone’s main street. Experience the quaintness of Boone by walking down King Street and enjoy all of the unique stores and restaurants we have to offer.
