Doc & Rosa Lee Watson Music Fest ‘n Sugar Grove

hotels in boone ncMusic Fest ‘n Sugar Grove is a wonderful celebration of all things Appalachian that takes place at the Historic Cove Creek School, which is a beautiful setting if you have never ventured that way. It is a hugely popular Bluegrass and heritage gathering that takes place each year in July and brings together some of the best sounds of Bluegrass and mountain music. This year’s festival, will take place July 15 and 16, 2016. Much like Merlefest and other NC mountain festivals in the High Country, this event is family friendly and always a fun time for all with food and craft vendors and friendly people. If you plan to go, you’ll need tickets. Prices are $20 Friday, $25 Saturday

This year’s Musicfest in Sugar Grove will feature world-renowned recording artists and some of the top names in the Bluegrass and folk genre. The 2016 event lineup is listed below. Sugar Grove is a wonderful mountain community located in Watauga County. It’s also sometimes referred to as Cove Creek, Vilas and confused with Valle Crucis as all of these mountain communities are right next to one another along the Watauga River. Our location in Boone is minutes away from area attractions and places of interest in and around Sugar Grove. Check out the Historic Mast General Store or the Annex located a few yards up the road. Take the hiking trails to Crab Orchard Falls or drive along Highway 194 towards Matney/Banner Elk and stop and take pictures at the Apple Barn at the Valle Crucis Conference Center.
