Folks can access different parking areas in the Linville Gorge area between mileposts 316 and 317. The Linville Falls Visitor Center could be a fun stop to learn more about the falls and take a potty break before heading on the trails. To see all possible views, plan a whole day for this trip.

Two trails will give the full spectrum of the falls. The Erwins View Trail is a moderate 1.6 mile round-trip walk with several different overlooks. The views off this trail range from seeing the whole upper and lower falls to the whole gorge with the falls in the distance. The Linville Gorge trail is probably the most traveled trail leading through Linville Gorge and to Plunge Basin, where you can view the force of the entire waterfall plunging into the Basin.
