Lights Near Our Bed and Breakfast

bed and breakfast Boone NCThanksgiving is this week! We are happy for all the delicious home cooked food and the time to spend with family. However, those of us at the Lovill House Inn, the best bed and breakfast Boone NC has to offer, are positively chomping at the bit for the day after Thanksgiving. That will be the day we all light up our Christmas trees, decorate the Inn and the Holiday season has officially begun! Here, we have a few things we like to do throughout the holiday season that keep our hearts festive and full.

During the Holiday season, we get a lot of guests who ask us where to best see Christmas lights. We have several favorites, and during a long stay with us, you can see them all! Of course each town will be lit up for the holidays after their respective lighting ceremonies, but there are a few displays worth mentioning. Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock holds their festival of lights each year. Beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving, the lake and grounds of Chetola will be lit with different displays free to view.

Linville Land Harbor also has a display of gorgeous lights. The display will feature thousands of lights, many different scenes, including snowflakes, reindeer, and a nativity scene. This is a drive through light show and will be available to view through January 1st.

A regional favorite that is further out from our Inn but worth a visit is the Tanglewood Festival of Lights in Tangle Wood Park located in Clemmons, NC. The park is about an hour or so from the inn and has been named one of the largest light displays in the Southeast. With almost a 4 mile long drive and over 100 displays of lights, Tanglewood also offers a gift shop, food vendors, and a smores station! Horse drawn carriages and hayrides also available.
