On Friday, March 16th, the Schaefer Center will be hosting the Golden Dragon Acrobats, a troupe world renowned for it’s daring acts of balance and beauty. A time-honored tradition of more than twenty five centuries, the Golden Dragons are the premiere Chinese acrobatic touring company of today. Tickets range from $5 for students and staff to $20 for adults. There is a local resident discount with proof of residency for all Watauga, Ashe, or Avery County citizens. This is a show you don’t want to miss.
During the school year, the Hayes School of Music hosts public concerts and recitals for all to view. Performances vary from student recitals to musicals to specialty ensemble performances. Most events are free, however, some of the more popular acts may charge a small admission free. Some notable performances of this semester include the performance of Sweeny Todd in mid-April, Gospel Choir on Sunday, April 29th, and the Steely Pan Steel Drum Band on April 30th at 8pm.
