SAVOR features four days of festivities of different types to enjoy. From tastings to a road race, you can’t go wrong with visiting this weekend. Beautiful Blowing Rock is a quaint town 8 miles from Boone, and is an enjoyable trip in itself, add delicious delicacies and you’re set. Starting Thursday, enjoy numerous seminars on wines from different regions around the world, hosted by Sunset & Vine. If you’re more of a hands on person, join the folks at the Blowing Rock Art and History museum for Cork and Canvas, a wine and painting class.
For the more mobile, on Friday, the event called “Sip, Shop, and Stroll” gets underway at 3:00pm and will last til 7:00pm. Different shops along the streets of Blowing Rock will be offering tastings to encourage you to sip, shop, and stroll. A map of participating businesses can be found online at www.savorblowingrock.com . If you’re looking for quite the workout while still enjoying the event, the Corkscrew and Brew 5k will be taking place at Chetola, Saturday the 22nd at 9:00am. What could be better than wine, beer, and running 3.1 miles?
