Listening to an outdoor concert in the North Carolina mountains is a sensory experience that feels both grand and deeply intimate. It is a shift in frequency—where the music vibrates against a backdrop of ancient peaks and thin, clean air, while the sunset paints the sky.
There are many opportunities to enjoy music outdoors in the High Country. Here are a few of our favorites.
Summer Concerts at the Jones House - Boone

The popular weekly concert series at the Jones House in Downtown Boone runs weekly from June through August. Showcasing local and regional acts, the lineup features a variety of musical genres that will appeal to all types of music fans - bluegrass, oldtime, jazz, folk, songwriters, and more.
Music begins at 5:30 PM every Friday from June through August. Concerts are free and open to the public. Check out the 2026 lineup here!
Music in the Valle - Valle Crucis

Valle Crucis Community Park welcomes locals and visitors to the park to enjoy live music from various local and regional musicians. Fridays from 6 pm to dusk, June through September 4th.
Valle Crucis Community Park is next to the Mast Store Annex, near the Original Mast General Store in the historic village of Valle Crucis. Look for the wooden bear on a tree stump at the driveway entrance & be sure to drive slowly on the gravel road.
Blowing Rock's Concerts in the Park

Blowing Rock’s Concert in the Park Series is an annual set of free outdoor concerts at the Rotary Gazebo in Memorial Park.
Always on Sundays following Art in the Park shows, the performances offer entertainment from a variety of musical genres. Bring a lawn chair or blanket to Memorial Park on Main Street to enjoy the music. Bring your family and friends to enjoy some great live music.
