Trout Fishing Season is Heating Up — But the Best Window is Now
Early spring is prime time for trout fishing in the High Country before warmer weather makes the fish more cautious. The Blowing Rock Trout Derby kicks off in early May (May 2–3), but you can get on the water right now with cooler streams and hungry trout. Local guides and stocked waters are easily accessible from the Inn. We’re happy to share recommendations for outfitters and the best nearby spots.
