The Lovill House Inn is under new ownership! The Olsen family is working hard to bring new life to the historic landmark built in 1875 and where the legislation for Appalachian State University was created in 1906.

We are investing in improving the energy efficiency of all buildings on the property and adding enough solar and Tesla batteries to operate the Inn completely independent from the electrical grid.  We will install a solar carport that protects our guests cars from the elements as well as generating power.  We will harness some of the flow from the waterfall into a micro hydro system that helps keep the batteries fully charged even when it is raining.  The Inn will have 6 guest rooms upgraded with new hardwood floors, tiles and new well insulated ceilings replacing the former popcorn ceilings. We will only use shampoos, soaps, and detergents that are not heavily packaged in plastic and serve organic breakfasts.

We are scheduled to reopen at the beginning of June. For reservations or other inquiries, call (828)270-0831 or email to speak with the innkeeper.
